hollywoodnews.com: A Hungarian SWAT-team equivalent raided the set of the currently-filming "World War Z," which stars Brad Pitt, to confiscate upwards of eighty-five weapons being used in the film. The weapons were seized on the grounds that they had not been sufficiently modified to meet the country's standards. Specifically, they were believed to be fully operational weapons with firing mechanisms that had not been fully disabled from firing live ammunition.
“It’s possible that all the weapons were brought in for the film, but this would not be allowed by Hungarian law. This is a very complicated case,” said Janos Hajdu, who is the director of Hungary’s Anti-terrorism Center.
However, Bela Gajdos, the firearms expert supervisor for “World War Z,” disagreed, saying the production had secured all necessary permits and undergone the appropriate inspections, naming the Hungarian-based film company Mafilm as the outfit that had secured the permits on the film's behalf.
